Canonical Ltd. tasked the Iconfactory to design and develop a cutting edge icon suite for their highly regarded Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Linux OS implementation, code named Dapper Drake. The suite had to convey a timely visual approach that could comfortably co-exist alongside the numerous user-contributed icons and community design standards that characterize Linux. The warm tones already established in the Ubuntu interface were extended into the icon suite to emphasize Ubuntu’s branding in a friendly, easily recognizable way.
