(06.Mar.12) Twitterrific 4.4.7 Improves Growl, Adds Animated GIFs

Announcing Twitterrific 4.4.7 for Mac and iOS. This version includes several small but nice feature improvements including support for animated GIFs, the ability to undo a native retweet and turn off the “New since last refresh” count on the Mac dock icon. Twitterrific will also summarize Growl messages when a certain threshold is reached so your screen doesn’t fill up with unwanted notifications.

Additionally, we’ve taken another stab at improving timeline gaps that should automatically fill them for most users when pressing the “Load More” button. These, plus a host of usability improvements, like a slightly larger “Large” font size are included in this point update which is free and recommended for all Twitterrific users. Please visit the Mac and iOS version history pages for a complete list of what’s new.

(09.Mar.12) Flare's One Year Anniversary

A year ago tomorrow, the Iconfactory and ARTIS Software launched Flare, our digital darkroom photo effects editor for Mac OS X. The app was met with critical and popular success and has become one of our most popular applications. Much has happened in the year since Flare launched and we wanted to take a moment to say thanks to everyone who’s helped make the app so popular.

Flare users have been experimenting with filters and presets since day one and have done some amazing things with the software. The Flare Flickr pool is a great place to get ideas for your photos and see how others are pushing the limits of what’s possible with Flare. The last twelve months have seen several point releases adding new presets, external editing with iPhoto, Aperture, and Lightroom and syncing preset via Dropbox. Finally, last December, Apple named Flare as one of their Best of the Mac App Store of 2011, which was quite an honor.

As we look forward to Flare’s future, we’re hard at work on the next point release, 1.3 that aims to bring several important improvements including increased stability. Apple’s planned Sandbox changes have caused unavoidable delays in shipping 1.3, but we’re now in private beta testing and hope to have it in the App Store soon. Version 1.3 will also include a few surprises we hope you’ll enjoy.

Flare for the Mac is available now from Apple’s new Mac App Store via their one-click ordering system. Ordering from the Mac App Store is quick, easy and means there are no registration codes to keep track of.

We invite you to visit to learn more about the application, download free presets, browse the online users guide and more. Then head on over to the Mac App Store and pick up the digital desktop darkroom that is Flare for the Mac. Your photo is just the beginning!
