What does the multi-celled grid on the left represent?

This grid (the Resource List) represents all of the individual icon resources that can be compiled together to make a single icon.

The list is customizable based on the currently selected preset and can be modified as needed. In the list, columns represent color depths (32-bit, 8-bit, 4-bit and 1-bit), rows represent icon groups (sizes).

Every grid square you complete will mean that the icon you save at the end will have those resources built into it. Cells in the grid can be filled automatically using the Build button to the right of the Grid or individually using keyboard shortcuts.

For more detailed information, consult the Tutorial pdf included with your IconBuilder download.
