When you select a particular setting in Screens, the tool displays the content areas for each of the browsers based on its default settings. This takes into account the maximum usable space after eliminating toolbars, and other UI elements.
However, since users can (and do!) adjust their toolbars, start menus, and other UI elements, content areas should be used as a guideline, not as an exact measurement. You can also create your own custom screen sizes and make them available via the Screen’s pop down menus for later reference.
