Sensor Tools lets students perform classroom physics experiments using their own smartphones. We wanted the icon design to reflect the two main modules, motion tracking, which captures, analyzes and plots motion, and light refraction, which analyzes the refraction of light from one medium to another.
Our goal for this icon was to make it unique, connect with users who have an interest in science and physics, and give it a cool-factor that would resonate with students when they see the icon on their iOS devices.
